If you have not gotten lost in a corn maze yet, be sure to try it this year.

It can be pretty disorienting! Here are some shots of my family this past weekend (down in Kent/Auburn, off of 277th exit).

My family has learrned a secret about September....this is the month when we find the very nicest conditions at Coulon Park.

It's beautiful year round, but this is the month when you can park your car easily, find plenty of empty tables and barbecues all day long, and it's still warm enough to splash around in the water.

Today was a beautiful day for picnicking!

Wow, what a warm, pretty Saturday today. August is turning out to be a great month for outdoor activities.

My son and daughter in law are having fun with balloons. (My wife and I are in the backround in the bottom picture.)

Here's much of what a mother has to say every day, in under three minutes, to the tune of William Tell Overture. This musical number could be on Broadway. Enjoy!

This photo was posted in a comment yesterday by Rational Person. Isn't it great? It's taken from the Renton Highlands, with I believe Cougar Mountain in the background.

I shot this from my front yard a few days ago. So pretty.

My wife and daughter talked me into accompanying them to the Seattle Woman's show last year. While they really had fun, and I found most of it moderately interesting, there was one definite highlight for me. We ran across Karolyn Grimes, a Carnation resident who had the most famous line in the Christmas classic "It's a Wonderful Life." Now a youngish-seeming grandmother, she remains recognizable at Zu Zu, and she is wonderfully willing to share about making the movie. She told me her strongest memory was of Jimie Stewert carrying her down the stairs on the set of the old house. At 6' 3", Stewart was soooo tall, she said, and he would hold her high up near his shoulders, making her feel like she was way up in the air. She also said she remembers him being very friendly and warm to everyone.

Here is a picture she signed for us.

I got these two photos from the transit center, during the fall festival. The first one features the beautiful artwork donated by the Municipal Art's Commission, and produced by students from Renton Technical College's English as a Second Language class.

The second picture is my wife and daughter, with some of our close friends, leaving the Piazza Fall Festival.

Our beloved Renton Piazza boosters put on a wonderful, bright, and snowy event at the Piazza yesterday.

Santa Clause came down for the kids, bands and carolers provided music, and the crowd was warmed up against the unusually cold night with hot apple cider provided by the volunteer organizers.

Jim Medzegian, the president of the Renton Piazza Team, did a fantastic job coordinating the event, and making it special for all in attendance. I would like to name his many dedicated volunteers, but I don't want to leave anyone out, so I just wish to say that I really appreciated all their hard work.

I ran into councilwoman Marcie Palmer at the event, who was there with her lovely family, including her professional-photographer husband Gary.

Gary and Marcie provided me with these wonderful pictures from the event!

Thanks Gary!
